May 24th Tuesday. Typical Tuesday. Did think of going along for the ridewhen Ray took Mrs P home, but decided Ray would be quicker without me, and still such a lot to do in the garden.

Just recently read “Flowers for Adonis” and can hardly believe I never read this book about the Athens/Sparta war and Alcibiades, (and I read “Eagle..” Warrior” and “Mark/Horse Lord” now something like fifty years ago. ) Good books enrich us forever. Long live Rosemary Sutcliff and many thanks to Anthony. (Also loved the gift of those photos of the world’s most beautiful bookstores.
