Rosemary Sutcliff on liking children, adults or dogs more

A quotation from Rosemary Sutcliff about liking children, dogs and adults.

Rosemary Sutcliff, historical novelist and author for children, was once asked whether, as a writer of children’s books, she particularly liked children. Rosemary Sutcliff said:

I like a child or a dog or an adult according to their merits. I am prone to like more dogs on a percentage basis.

  1. I love her sass! Hilarious. She’s awesome. Finally reading Blue Remembered Hills so hopefully I will find out more of what made her tick. Definitely my favorite author with a style that I don’t think I’ll find anywhere else.

    1. I think she woud have enjoyed being described as having sass! I was fortunate to grow up with her in my life , and although BRH stops about when I was born, it is a picture of where her sass and books came from.
